Hycrete ® Integral Waterproofing Admixtures keep water out of the concrete by sending the agents to close up pores. These agents prevent water from the exterior surface to permeate through.
In addition, Hycrete protects the rebar from corrosion by passivating the surface of the reinforcing steel, forming a protective barrier.
Because of its excellent properties, Hycrete can close moderate-sized cracks that develop in concrete, generally up to 0.4 mm.
This integral waterproofing technology eliminates the use of membranes, thereby reducing the demand of other materials to be used in the waterproofing application. It shortens construction time while it effectively reduces the total project cost. Hycrete reduces water absorption to <1%, effectively protecting the steel rebars and the concrete structure, and extending the life of the concrete structure to more than double its normal life.
